Microsoft has officially announced the Windows 11 release date for all users, which is on the 5th of October, 2021. This makes the release just 4 weeks ahead, which is way earlier compared to the tentative timeline of Mid-2022 by Microsoft. The company will start rolling out the Windows 11 update to all eligible users starting on October 5th in a phased rollout as per its latest announcement.
Windows 11 Release date: October 5, 2021 – save the date
Windows 11 is available to selected users as of now under the Insider Preview Program by Microsoft, on computers supporting TPM 2.0. This is a key eligibility factor for Windows 11 to be installed on any machine. However, Microsoft themselves have confirmed that they will not restrict users from installing Windows 11 on systems without TPM 2.0 support. The process though will take a few steps more as users without TPM 2.0 will have to manually install Windows 11 through an ISO file. For users with supported systems, the Windows 11 upgrade is absolutely free of cost and can be installed on any supported computer when the rollout begins.
Windows 11 brings in a lot of refreshments in UI with a complete overhaul of the settings menu and taskbar. The only catch with this update is that the most anticipated feature in Windows 11, which is native support for Android applications through collaboration with the Amazon App Store is still far ahead.
